If it's just one day, I'm sure they would let it pass, since they probably get a lot of mail that does actually get picked up on that day but doesn't make it to processing until the next. I sent 2 priority mail packages out on December 16, 2015. Both packages had printed 4 x 6 labels with bar code and tracking. I printed the packages up using online software. I followed the packages which only show leaving my local post office in Vermont. Both the packages were delivered today December 22, 2015, finally!
It is bad customer service. If they do not want to deliver packages to the recipients door, then they shouldn't charge for the extra services.
